Cornelius G. Dyke Memorial Fund
Although Cornelius G. Dyke has passed away, this 1926 University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine graduate and pioneering neuroradiologist is helping UI medical students chart new territory. Through the Cornelius G. Dyke Memorial Fund, this former UI baseball player and Orange City, Iowa, native still is giving back to the University that launched his career.
After completing his training at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Dr. Dyke went on to a successful career as a radiologist, pioneering the field of neuroradiology and serving as president-elect of the American Roentgen Ray Society. He spent most of his career in New York City and was on staff at Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University until his death in 1943.
Cornelius’ brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Lester Dyke, established the fund to honor Cornelius and his parents, Charles L. and Gertrude Mans Dyke. Dr. Lester Dyke also was a graduate of the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He was a surgeon in the U.S. Army and retired as a colonel.
Congratulations on receiving the Cornelius G. Dyke Memorial Fund
