Held on the centennial of the World War I armistice, this program offers opportunities to experience France’s Champagne country, celebrated for the sparkling wine that bears its name. Tour and sample champagne at the acclaimed Taittinger estate. Then, explore Reims and Cathedral of Notre-Dame, cruise the Marne River, and stroll through Hautvillers, where Dom Pérignon perfected the champagne-making process. Discover Épernay’s champagne storage and visit the World War I site of the Battle of the Somme. You’ll also drive through the Meuse-Argonne region to Verdun, Europe’s largest American military cemetery.
