Our dogs bring us immeasurable joy and comfort. They brighten our days when we’re feeling down, encourage us to enjoy life and be more active, and help us further relish time with neighbors and loved ones.
That’s why we created a Facility Dog Program to bring in compassionate and comforting canines to help pediatric patients cope with the most challenging of medical situations, procedures, and diagnoses. Our program is funded solely by donors—which total more than 275 to date—and continued support will help Nacho and Corrin bring smiles and comfort to pediatric patients.
Brynn Bowman had a tumor removed from her spinal cord shortly after birth, and thanks to medical professionals at University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, she’s since been a happy and healthy child. Her parents, Jarod and Leann, are grateful to have top-notch care so close to home, which is why they have supported pediatric care efforts.
Along with Cody and Kylie Angle, the Bowmans are co-owners of Metro Harley-Davidson-Suzuki Can-Am in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and together, they created the 620 Foundation to raise funds for Iowa’s pediatric patients. Through their summer bike night events, they’ve raised more than $1 million over the past 10 years and have named three spaces in Stead Family Children’s Hospital—Room 620 in the neonatal intensive care unit, 310 in the pediatric intensive care unit, and a Level 6 consult room.
Bonnie Geer spent so much of her life helping young minds thrive as an educator and school principal. When it came time to give back, it was no surprise that Bonnie and her husband, Dennis (66BBA), wanted to improve the lives of young children.

The Iowa women’s basketball team turned a historic moment into a tremendous opportunity for Hawkeyes to support Stead Family Children’s Hospital. More than 55,000 fans attended the 2023 Crossover at Kinnick and raised more than $250,000 to support pediatric patients. Relive the once-in-a-lifetime event at Kinnick!
Iowans take care of their fellow Iowans. Through gifts to Project ADAM: Iowa Heartland, we are able to provide free education and planning assistance to parents, administrators, school nurses, athletic trainers, and coaches with the goal of preventing sudden cardiac arrest in children, adolescents, and adults.
