Together, Changing the Future.

Adeline Lovell was diagnosed with leukemia at just 4 years old. After her parents, Chris and Morgan, entrusted Stead Family Children’s Hospital with her care and treatments, the Clear Lake, Iowa, girl got back to doing what she loves—art, dance, gymnastics, and dreaming of becoming a Hawkeye cheerleader. The Lovells were so grateful for Adeline’s care that they made a gift and named a triage office on the 11th floor in her honor.

Together, Changing the Game.

Last fall, the Children's Miracle Network team hosted its first-ever College Football 25 video game tournament in Kinnick Stadium’s Ted Pacha Family Club. The single-elimination event drew around 300 attendees—with 64 competitors—and raised $62,000 for pediatric patients and their families.

Together, Turning Lemons Into Life-Changing Discoveries.

Five young kids—Lucas Garrett, Niklaus Johnson, Gavin Stout, Camden Stout, and Stella Stout—from Ottumwa, Iowa, raised $1,000 for Stead Family Children’s Hospital through their lemonade stand. The Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress matched their gift, bringing their total support to $2,000.

Together, Providing High-Level Care.

Whether it’s through round-up campaigns, candy bar sales, key-cutting promotions, or Bucket Day discount events, Ace Hardware—and its more than 70 retail locations—has raised over $2.3 million for our patients and their families through Children’s Miracle Network. In 2025, Ace Hardware committed to a three-year pledge of $750,000 for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital Building Fund and will be recognized with a named space on Level 7.

Together, Transforming Our World.

Before Caitlin Clark (24BBA) was a star at Iowa, she played for Dickson and Luann Jensen’s All-Iowa Attack team. Their daughter, Ally Obermeier, was Clark’s coach during some of those years and has since penned a book, “Just Like Caitlin.” This past year, the Jensen family donated 1,000 copies of the book to Stead Family Children’s Hospital so they could be distributed to community clinics and other UI Health Care locations.
