D. L. and Bernice Kellogg Student Aid Fund
D. L. and Bernice Kellogg were born and raised in Charles City, Iowa, and although life’s choices transplanted them from the Hawkeye state, they still dedicated themselves to making higher education available to more Iowa students.
After serving in France during World War I, D. L. acquired land in Wisconsin, but the family eventually moved to California. Bernice attended college in Cedar Rapids and taught kindergarten for a short time. She was always interested in education, which is why she and D. L. chose to contribute to the University of Iowa.
They wrote, “We were born and brought up in Iowa, where both our families were pioneers in the early 1850’s. Although we have lived elsewhere for many years, we still prefer to have our families’ wishes carried out in Iowa.”
They hoped that their gift to the University of Iowa, in the form of grants and student loans, could help pioneering medical students who demonstrate worthiness and need.
Congratulations on receiving the D. L. and Bernice Kellogg Student Aid Fund
