At more than 100 years old, University of Iowa radio station WSUI is one of the oldest continuously operating radio stations in the U.S. and considered the first educational radio station west of the Mississippi.

For the 32nd year in a row, the U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” rankings has listed UI Hospitals and Clinics as the No. 1 hospital in Iowa as well as the only one in Iowa to have specialties ranked in the top 50 nationally.

The University of Iowa Athletics Department has named the field at Kinnick Stadium Duke Slater Field. Slater, who played for the Hawkeyes from 1918-21, was the first Black student-athlete in school history to earn All-America honors.
