Harold and Shirley Shoup Reihman Scholarship Fund
The Harold and Shirley Shoup Reihman Scholarship Fund was established by Harold J. and Shirley H. Shoup Reihman in 1997. Shirley was an alumna of the University of Iowa College of Nursing, who cared deeply about the nursing profession and future generations of nursing professionals.
Shirley was born in South Amana, Iowa on May 18, 1930, to Herman and Carrie Geiger Shoup. She graduated from Amana High School in 1948, and decided to attend the University of Iowa to obtain her G.N. degree in nursing.
Shirley married Harold Reihman on August 5, 1950, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City, Iowa. She worked for several years as a registered nurse prior to having three children.
Shirley was active as a member of the Methodist Church and served on many boards, including the Landmark Center, Fayette County Public Library, Area Artists Series, and the YMCA. She also served as a volunteer for the Red Cross and an instructor for home nursing and expectant parent classes.
Shirley passed away on November 19, 2007, but her legacy lives on at Iowa through the Harold and Shirley Shoup Reihman Scholarship. She is remembered for her kind spirit and dedication to her family and community.
Congratulations on receiving the Harold and Shirley Shoup Reihman Scholarship Fund
