Aly Olson

A senior at the University of Iowa, Aly is majoring in Vocal Performance and Performing Arts Entrepreneurship. A Hawkeye to the core, Aly is involved in UI Opera Productions and choir, Walk It Out Multicultural Fashion Show, President Sally Mason’s President’s Leadership Class, and the University of Iowa Foundation Student Philanthropy Group. Aly is a Presidential and Old Gold Scholarship recipient and enjoys meeting alumni and donors who have helped make her experience at the UI possible. With plans to graduate next December, Aly plans to perform for her whole life and lead an arts organization that works with youth.

Aly was crowned Miss Iowa in June of 2014 and since then, she has spent her days traveling the state of Iowa promoting the Miss Iowa Scholarship Program, Children's Miracle Network, and her personal platform Do One Thing: Diversity Everyday. Aly has spoken at numerous schools across the state about Do One Thing: Diversity Everyday as well as shared her love of singing with thousands of Iowans in audiences large and small. Miss Iowa 2014, Aly Olson represented the state of Iowa at the 2015 Miss America Pageant, where she was named a top 12 semi-finalist. Aly has been honored to represent the state of Iowa and the University of Iowa this year.
