Caitlin's Dream

Microstory Contest Winner - Grades 5 & 6 (Prompt B)
“Caitlin, wake up. It’s time for your medicine.” the nurse said. Caitlin groaned as she tried to get up. She had gotten into an accident and was now in the Children's Hospital. Caitlin peeked out of the hospital blinds to see that the Iowa Hawkeyes had won a game and the marching band was going through the field. Caitlin closed her eyes as she drifted onto the field. She threw the baton with the other girls and celebrated the victory of her favorite team. Caitlin opened her eyes and her dream faded. Oh, how Caitlin wished she could be there.
