Meet Carly - Children's Miracle Network Champion!

In 2023, Carly was referred to University of Iowa Health Care
Stead Family Children’s Hospital after her doctors noticed a
concerning slowdown in her growth. After extensive testing
and evaluations, a genetic karyotype revealed that Carly has
Turner syndrome — a condition that can affect many parts of
the body and often requires lifelong, specialized medical care.
With the diagnosis came a flood of new information,
additional testing, and appointments with multiple specialists
to understand what Carly needs now and what she may need
in the future. Although the unknowns felt overwhelming at first,
her family has been supported every step of the way by a
dedicated care team committed to helping Carly thrive.
Through it all, Carly has shown remarkable resilience. She
approaches each new appointment and test with courage,
surrounded by a compassionate team in Iowa City that
continues to learn more about how to best support her unique
