Team Iowa Dance Marathon Celebrates Another Impactful Year

The 2026 Team Iowa Dance Marathon season has officially come to a close—and what an incredible year it was! Thanks to the passion, dedication, and year-round fundraising efforts of our students, Team Iowa raised an astounding $2,417,811.33 for kids treated at University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

This total represents a 4.5% increase over last year, and its impact will be felt by patients and families across Iowa. From critical medical care to family-centered programs and support services, these funds help ensure kids receive the specialized care they need, when they need it most.

Honoring Our Top 205 Individual Fundraisers

This year, we are also excited to recognize our top 205 individual fundraisers across Team Iowa Dance Marathon programs. This number was intentionally chosen to reflect the 205 patient beds at Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Together, these students raised an incredible $721,815.77, directly supporting patients and families from every county across the state of Iowa.

Five of our thirteen collegiate programs were represented among the top fundraisers:

• • University of Iowa Dance Marathon (UIDM): 156 students
  • University of Northern Iowa Dance Marathon (UNIDM): 27 students
  • Iowa State University Dance Marathon (ISUDM): 13 students
  • St. Ambrose University Dance Marathon (SAUDM): 5 students
  • Kirkwood Community College Dance Marathon (KCCDM): 4 students

We’d also like to celebrate the top fundraiser from each of these programs. Collectively, these five student leaders raised an impressive $48,216.22:

  • University of Iowa: Campbell Wood – $16,176.02
  • Iowa State University: Gavin Congalton – $6,096.67
  • St. Ambrose University: Addie Hendrick – $5,063.61
  • Kirkwood Community College: Andrea Penning – $3,312.52 (two years in a row!)
