Getting to Kinnick Stadium

Before the Game Begins

  • Enjoy the Hawkeye Marching Band at two locations before kickoff—the Krause Family Plaza (two hours before the game) and at the UI Recreation Building (75 minutes prior to kickoff), which is located northwest of Kinnick Stadium.
  • Find a UIAA Rivalry Button: For each home game, a commemorative button will be available for Hawkeye fans of all ages. You can pick them up each week by stopping by the Hawkeye Headquarters, located outside of Kinnick Stadium in Lot 43W, two hours prior to kickoff, or at all Hills Bank branches beginning the Monday before each home game.
  • Grab a meal at one of the many food vendors along Melrose Avenue.
  • Tailgate with Friends and Family
  • Visit the Hawkeye Kids’ Zone, which is located on the practice field behind the Stew and LeNore Hansen Football Performance Center. Spirit squads and student-athletes from other Hawkeye sports teams will be there, along with inflatable games, face painting, temporary tattoos, a prize wheel, and more.
  • Welcome the Hawkeye football players to Kinnick Stadium. Two hours before kickoff, the Hawkeye football team will make their way from the team buses across Krause Plaza and into the south entrance of Kinnick Stadium.
