University of Iowa Veterans Alumni Group


We are proud to announce the reestablishment of the University of Iowa Veterans Alumni Group, a dedicated community for alumni who have served in the armed forces. This group honors the unique experiences, leadership, and resilience of our veteran alumni, while fostering meaningful connections across generations.

Open to all University of Iowa alumni who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Veteran Alumni Group fosters lifelong connections between the university and its veteran alumni. The group honors the service of alumni veterans, supports the transition of student veterans, and builds a strong network for personal and professional development.

Objectives include:

  • Strengthen bonds between the university and veteran alumni
  • Provide mentorship opportunities to student veterans and recent graduates
  • Host programming that supports personal, professional, and academic success
  • Advocate for veteran-related initiatives within the UI community
  • Foster camaraderie and peer support through events and storytelling
  • Engage in service and philanthropic efforts that uplift veteran causes
  • Preserve and celebrate the unique experiences of UI veterans
